Reviews Overview

Most Liked

The charm of Puckersley Inn lies in its exceptional service. Many visitors highlight the friendly staff, particularly mentioning Jenna, Sue, and Tom for their attentive service. The delicious food consistently earns rave reviews, especially the homemade cheese and onion pie and the flavorful rag pudding. Sunday lunches draw a crowd, praised for the incredible value of the three-course set menu, which is a steal at £21.50. The pub’s commitment to quality extends to its drink selections, with locals appreciating the cask ales and thoughtfully curated wine list. Overall, guests find Puckersley to encapsulate the perfect pub experience with vibrant energy and a community feel.

Most Disliked

The enthusiasm for Puckersley Inn doesn’t come without a few drawbacks. Some diners express frustration over busy times, especially on Saturday nights, when it’s advisable to book a table in advance to secure a spot. Reviewers highlight that peak hours can lead to a crowded atmosphere, detracting from a relaxed evening. While the menu offers a wide variety, a few guests have felt overwhelmed by the numerous choices available. Occasionally, the wait time for food can be longer than expected during dinner rush, particularly on Sundays. Understanding these peak times can help mitigate potential disappointments.

We dined here today after seeing recommendations on Facebook & I can tell you that we were NOT disappointed. From the moment we stepped into the pub, we were welcomed by smiling, attentive staff. The selection of food on offer is outstanding but not too overwhelming. Our servers Jenna, Sue and Tom could not have done any more to make our first visit a memorable one. We will for sure be returning (with baby boy too) !!!

Really nice pub in a really nice location. Food is really nice and decent prices also - the any 3 sides for £18 are nice and come with more than enough source which other places usually skimp out on. In the image is the tempura prawns, salt & pepper gyozas and franks red hot sauce chicken strips.

Great place but you need to book to guarantee a table! The set menu on a Sunday was 21.50 for 3 courses which is a total bargain for a tasty roast.

Had lunch here today as a part of our 47th wedding anniversary. The food was excellent (gammon steak) and thanks to our servers Amanda and Ruby for a splendid job. We had our wedding reception here all those years ago and still try to go back each year.Seen a lot of changes since then.

The Puckersley goes above and beyond AND THEN some for guests!!!! My husband and I invited our whole family out for a dinner and gender reveal of our baby and we asked the waitress staff to help us with the surprise. Not only did Liana, our waitress excitedly oblige in being the first to find out the gender and fill a cupcake with the correct color so that my husband and I could be surprised too, she made it super special by having the staff bring out a congratulations dessert, film our reactions and take pictures, and was just so wonderful the entire time in making it a special occasion for us. All this to say, the food was also SO delicious! We love the Puckersley and will be coming here for years to come when we are in town!!! Thanks again for everything!
